Q4. Why don't you have a fee level for full time ministry workers?

A. In setting our registration fee categories we have considered the costs of running the PeaceWise training events as well as what we believe different registrants can afford to pay to attend. We don’t have a registration category for those in “full time ministry” as that description can mean different things to different people and be a bit “blurry around the edges” (particularly as we hope that to some extent all Christians are in “full time ministry” for the Lord – regardless of their paid (or unpaid) occupation). We suspect that this may cause some people to rethink attending the PeaceWise training but we genuinely hope that we won’t exclude people because of the registration fee. Essentially we hope to have sufficient income from the fees to cover the costs of the training and possibly provide a small amount towards our on-going work. You will see that we have quite a number of discounts available which we hope will make the cost of attending as affordable as possible for those keen in making peacemaking an integral part of their lives and in the lives of others around them.

The best way to minimise your registration fee is to take advantage of the early bird discount or better still - register and attend with a group of 5 or more friends.

If you feel that even with these discounts the registration fee is prohibitive but you would still like to attend, you can apply for one of our limited sponsorships.   If you want to know more about this or have any other queries, please email contact@peacewise.org.au.

Q5. Where can I buy the book "The Peacemaker" by Ken Sande (Baker Books, 2004, 3rd ed)?

A. This is available for purchase from our on-line shop, at most Christian bookshops or directly from Peacemaker Ministries (www.Peacemaker.net). We will also have copies available for purchase with other resources at all our National training sessions.

Q6. What happens if a training session that I want to register for is full?

A. Although you will not be able to register on-line, we do not want people to miss out on any training if at all possible, so we are placing names on a waiting list for any sessions for which people are unsuccessful.  If any positions become available on selected sessions, we will contact people on the waiting list in date order of reservation. If you would like to put  your name on the waiting list for any such session, please email your name, full contact details and session (including location) which you would like to be waitlisted to contact@peacewise.org.au.  No deposit is required to be waitlisted for a session, but full payment will be required at the time of attendance.
If you have applied for registration by fax or post, you will be advised that your selected training session is full and will be automatically waitlisted.  As payment will have already been received you will be refunded any monies after commencement of the training session if you are unsuccessful in attending the selected training.

Q7. I can't attend a training session that I registered for - can I obtain a refund?

A. Our cancellation, refund and transfer policy is as follows:

Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations must be notified in writing to PeaceWise by fax or by email.  You must confirm by phone with PeaceWise that the fax or email has been received to ensure your cancellation will be treated as valid.

Cancellation fees will apply as follows:
• Up to 1 month before the first day of training booked, $40 cancellation fee applies.
• Between 1 month and 1 week before the first day of training booked, 50% of fees will be refunded.
• Cancellations made within 1 week of the first day of training booked will not have any fees refunded

You may transfer your registration to another person at anytime prior to the commencement of the training, as long as the replacement delegate is of the same registration fee level or lower than yourself, they are qualified to train at the training level for which you are registered (ie have done all pre-requisite training)  and full details of the replacement delegate are provided prior to commencement o the training.  (i.e  A Regular delegate registration may be transferred to a person who would qualify as a Regular or Concessional delegate and a Concessional delegate registration can only be transferred to a person who would qualify as a Concessional delegate)

Q8. Who sees my PeaceWise profile?
A. Only you and PeaceWise.   It's possible that at some time in the future we may provide an option for you to make your profile visible to others if you wish, however at this stage no-one else can login to see your profile (unless you give them your username and password, which we wouldn't recommend!).   Please refer to our privacy policy for more information on how PeaceWise controls the use of information we receive.

We will add questions and answers to this page as they come to us.  But hopefully we've answered your questions in other parts of this website!  If we haven't, please feel free to ring or email us.
